I was one of the three winners for designing
a mosaic pattern to go on the school's pizza oven. the design will be on the pizza oven permanently. By Maya Lachie and Oliver had a photo opportunity
with Tim Moore when he came to speak to the whole school about the new AFL club that is starting up. Just in case you didn't know, Tim plays for Greater Western Sydney and wears No. 39. He told us all about why he chose to play AFL, how he keeps fit, what he likes to eat and much more. Premier's Spelling Bee Champ - Jake Walker-Tutty. Jake will be representing the school at the regional Premier's Spelling Bee Stage 2 category on the 10 September. Way to go Jake. He is now learning to spell some very difficult words. Saithong, Lilla and Hayley are having piano lessons every Friday at school and recently competed in a music festival. They performed individual and duet pieces. Congratulations on your success and winning so many medals. These students from 3/4 M will be representing the school at the District Cross Country on Friday 16 May at Bodalla. Their placings at our school carnival were: Gabriela 4th, Ashleigh 5th, Saithong 3rd, Margaux 4th (but will be returning to France next week and is replaced by Ashleigh), Kobe 4th, Matty 1st and Oliver 2nd. respresented our School at the District Swimming Carnival in Narooma. They are photographed with fellow Junior boy relay team members Callum and Harry Jake came 9th in the Junior Breaststroke, Oliver came 10th in 10yr Freestyle. The relay team came 4th. Congratulations Boys. |

Last Thursday, at a morning tea with the Mayor, Oliver was presented with a Highly Commended in the 9 - 11 year age group in the Mayor's Writing Challenge. Oliver's story was titled "Challenge" and it can be read by clicking on the Writer's Blog tab above and then click on Oliver's name on the right hand side. Scroll down to the second story. On Friday the 25 July a group of students
from Broulee Public School went to the District Athletics carnival held at Batemans Bay. There were five students from 3/4M Saithong Fafie, Kai Taunga, Oliver Dolphin, Mary Woodford and Mathew Johnston. Saithong came 3rd in 100m final and 4th in 200m final, Kai got 6th in shot put, Matthew came 3rd in 800m, Oliver came 3rd in 200m heat and Mary came 4th in 100m final. by Saithong Congratulations Gabriela and Keshi on being
selected to represent Broulee Public School in the 2014 Multiculturalism Public Speaking Competition for Years 3 & 4. The girls will be competing against several other schools from our region in Week 9 this term. They will have to present a 3 minute prepared speech and a 1 minute impromptu speech. The girls will now be practising presenting impromptu speeches on a whole range of topics. Congratulations Matthew Matty was placed first in the 10 year boys school cross country race. He received his age champion medal and certificate at assembly on Thursday 10 April. He will now represent the school at the District Cross Country Carnival at Potato Point Bodalla on the 16th May. Last Monday Luke and I went to a debating
day where we learnt lots of things to do with persuasive arguments. We learnt all about the three M's, the peel and we than had our own debate. We had so much fun that day and can't wait to do it again. By Gabriela |
