We have a visitor to our class for a few days. Awen (pronounced Ar-wen) is from France and speaks very little English. We are communicating with her using gestures and an online app translator. So far we have managed to get our message across. The girls taught her to play the cups.
Thank you to Amanda and Kristy for presenting a very informative surf awareness talk to Stage 2 students.
The students gained more knowledge about Surf Life Saving and how to stay safe on our beautiful beaches this summer. Our class had the opportunity to take part in an environmental show that highlighted what the 3 waste bins at home are to be used for and the benefits of recycling. The program is sponsored by ESC. The students played games and created some excellent scenarios to act out.Mrs Hounsell, Mrs Hanks and Mrs Morgan manned the Broulee Public School stall at the Southeast Harvest Festival. The stall displayed all the work students completed over the past term. There was artwork, information sheets, stories, ebooks to read and games on display as well as bookmarks and plant seedlings to sell for a coin donation.
Raffle tickets were sold and Mrs Hanks helped children who visited the stall plant a seed to take home. At the end of the day nearly $300 was raised with the funds ear marked for our gardening program in 2015. Thanks to all the 3/4M and 4H students who dropped by on the day to say hello. |
