Mr Tom Dexter came from the Eurobadalla Shire Council to teach us about tracks and scats. He taught us all about different tracks and scats. He also taught us that scats are animal poo. Some animal tracks that he showed us were weird for example a kangaroo looks like a five legged animal. He made two sand boxes out the back of the school and showed us how to use them, You have to smooth the sand out, get a bottle or a milk cap and put peanut butter or honey in the cap. Put the cap in the middle of the sand box. First thing the next morning we look for scats and tracks and take photos of them. By Autumn and James

4H and 3/4M are completing a science unit called Smooth Moves.
It looks at friction, force, gravity and a lot more about movement of objects. Our first task was to explore different ways to move a marble around inside a hoop. Some pushed, pulled, dragged, hit and vibrated the marble. Two interesting ways were the catapult that Campbell, Daniel and Luke made and the suction method used by Gabriela, Ashleigh, Abby and Maya. For reading groups we had to write an alliteration for our names. We hope you like them: Spectacular Saithong sat suspiciously somewhere in Spain.
Majestic Maya munches melons in Malaysia. Little Lilla loves licking lollipops. Awesome Abby ate an apple at Adelaide's airport. Amazing Ashleigh ate an avocado. Gorgeous Gabriela gallops gracefully through Greenland. Great Gretel goes golfing in Greenland. Hopeful Harmony hates horrible hats. King Kai kicked kangaroo and koala kindly. Awesome Autumn adapted an adorable ape. Magnificent Mary made munchy muffins. Super Sam surfs super-sized seas superbly. Marvellous Monique's mum makes M & M munchies magnificently. Clever Kobe constantly catches crabby colds. Magic Matthew munches many monster meals. Helpful Hayley happily hugs horses. Big Brendan bites big bumble bees brilliantly Jovial Jordan jumps Jam Jolly jokingly. Lego Facts
Lego was invented in 1932 in Denmark by Ole Kirk Christiansen. If you made a tower of 40 billion lego bricks you would reach the moon. A minifigure is four bricks high without a hat. The first minifigure was made in 1978 and 4 billion more have been made. On average every person on has 86 Lego bricks. Good Luck Ashleigh, Saithong, Gabriela, Matty, Kobe and James at the District Cross Country tomorrow.
We hope you run well and have fun. We will have to stay at school and do lots and lots of hard work. |
